Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience?
No. Anyone can enjoy our kayak tours regardless of your ability and experience. Many of our guests are first time kayakers. We offer instruction and safety procedures before setting off and we ensure that everyone is relaxed before their journey.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No. Your safety is just one of our priorities and all our guests wear life jackets (PFD’s) which we provide to you regardless of your swimming ability. However, please let us know if you’re a non-swimmer prior to your tour.
Are there any age limits?
Generally, children over 4 years can join one of our shorter tours and children over 9 years can take part in our "Discovery Tour". A paying adult must accompany all children under 14 years.
Do I need to be physically fit?
No. People of reasonable fitness can join our tours. If you occasionally walk, play sport etc, then you should be OK, however please expect a moderate level of paddling activity. If you have any questions about your level of fitness or any health concerns, please give us a call.
Where do we go?
That depends on the sea, weather and wind conditions and we don’t really decide until just prior to the tour. What we do ensure is that your journey will be a fun, safe and scenic one.
What if it’s bad weather?
We reserve the right to cancel any tour due to unsafe weather conditions. If this happens, we will talk to you about rescheduling or refunding your tour.
Where are you located?
We are located right by our trailer on Victoria Parade, Nelson Bay on the beach front within the Marina (Please see "Contact Us" page)
What will I see?
Apart from spectacular scenery, you have a good chance of getting close to an abundance of wildlife such as Dolphins, Penguins, Sea Turtles and a wide array of bird and marine life. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
